In any case the answer is YES! You can crochet your swimsuit. You just need a pattern or a tutorial.
But it's true that there are preconceived ideas about crochet swimsuits. I even wrote an article about it, to tell you! "Can I go in the water with it?"; "Does it itch?" ... So I'll let you think about it.
In fact, I think it's even a perfect project for beginners. Indeed, the basic bikini only uses a few stitches. But above all it's a quick creation to make. And when you start, you shouldn't take on projects that are too long. It might discourage you. Here are other creations to get started with crochet.
How to Crochet a Bikini Top - Easy
There are different ways to make a crochet swimsuit top. However, there is a basic model: the triangular shaped cup. Indeed, it has a classic shape and is very easy to make. By default, I made it in double crochets. Double crochets are widely used to make clothes. You can have fun making the bikini cap in single crochet or half double crochet. You will have a slightly different result.

For my part, I preferred a shape of swimsuit bottom a little sexier than the briefs or the Brazilian cut: the tanga.

In the same way, I opted for the double crochets. As I told you, these are the stitches that are classically used to make a crochet outfit. Indeed, given their height, they allow you to crochet quite quickly while having a correct result. For example, it would not be uninteresting to crochet your outfit in double crochets. Their result is too loose. You have too much space between the stitches and therefore too much transparency!
How long does it take to crochet a swimsuit?
Of course it depends on the speed at which you crochet. However, for a small piece like this bikini and with a "correct" speed, you can make it in about 2 hours for the top and 2 hours 30 for the bottom. That is almost 5 hours. (this is an average estimate!)
